The Texas Historical Cemetery Guardianship Association is a volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation and protection of Brazoria County’s historic cemeteries. Our members share a deep commitment to honoring the memory of those who shaped our community’s history.

Locate & Document

Locate abandoned or neglected historic cemeteries within Brazoria County and ensure they are properly documented and recognized.

Research & Record

Research, compile and maintain a database containing the location, history and burials within the said cemeteries.

Restore & Maintain

Assist with general physical improvements of the cemetery grounds as resources are available, from cleanup to headstone repair.

Designate & Protect

Facilitate Historical Texas Cemetery Designation recognition by the Texas Historical Commission for qualified cemeteries.

There are no membership dues. Visitors are always welcome at our monthly meetings.
