Our Purpose & Goals

The purposes and goals for which the Texas Historical Cemetery Guardianship Association is organized are:

1. To locate abandoned or neglected historic cemeteries within Brazoria County.
2. To research, compile and maintain a database containing the location, history and burials within the said cemeteries.
3. To assist with general physical improvements of the cemetery grounds as resources are available.
4. To facilitate Historical Texas Cemetery Designation recognition by the Texas Historical Commission.
